Your first class, step by step

Here's exactly what to expect

No surprises, no guessing. Here's how your first visit will go from the moment you walk in.

  1. Pre-book your spot

Reserve your class ahead of time on the Yoga House RGV app or by calling 956-446-2425. It guarantees your mat space and makes check-in effortless.

  2. Arrive 15 minutes early

Come a little early for your first class. We'll greet you, show you around, help you set up and answer anything on your mind.

  3. Settle into the heat

Set your mat where you feel comfortable — the back row is a great first-timer spot. The infrared warmth builds gently as class begins.

  4. Move at your own pace

Your instructor guides every step and offers modifications throughout. Rest in child's pose whenever you need — resting is part of the practice, not a failure.

  5. Leave lighter than you came

Class ends in stillness. Hydrate, take your time, and come say hi at the front desk — most first-timers are already asking about their next class.

Come prepared

What to bring

Keep it simple. If you forget something, don't worry — the front desk has you covered.

A mat & towel

Bring your own or rent one at the studio. A towel helps with the infrared sweat.

Water to hydrate

Come hydrated and bring a bottle. The heat makes you sweat — water is your friend.

Breathable clothing

Wear light, breathable clothes you can move and stretch in comfortably.

An open mind

The most important thing. Explore, have fun and give it a try — that's all it takes.

About the heat

Nervous about hot yoga? Read this

Our studios use infrared heat, which warms your body directly rather than blasting hot air into the room. It feels gentler and more even than you'd imagine — many first-timers say it's the part they end up loving most. You warm up faster, stretch deeper and sweat out the day.

  • A gentler warmth

Even, radiant heat — not a wall of hot air.

  • You set the pace

Take a knee, grab water, rest anytime. It's your practice.

  • Always guided live

A real instructor in the room with you — never a screen.

First-timer tip: pick a spot near the back and by the door for your first class. There's no pressure to keep up — showing up is the whole win.
